About the event

This dig will be held in the village of Skirling just outside Biggar. Skirling was once a very busy horse and castle market and dates back to 1275.  Numbers will be limited as we only have 45 acres for the day.

  • Please make sure all holes are filled in and stamped down properly
  • Please make sure all gates are closed if moving from field to field as some fields may have livestock
  • Postcode and What3Words is sent out to attendees before the event via Facebook
  • If you do not have Facebook, feel free to contact us via the Contact Us page
  • Price of the dig is £10 per person detecting, payable on the day
  • Non-detecting guests are free
  • Start time is 9am, with attendees allowed to arrive from 8am to set up. 
  • Finish time is 5pm, unless otherwise stated
  • Please car sharing is always encouraged
  • Please respect the countryside code and take any rubbish with you
  • Scrap metal buckets are provided for scrap metal only

Acquaint yourself with the terms and definitions used in the following documents:
